Cosmopolitan Insurance Offers One-Year Health Cover For Midland Police Victim

Leading health insurance company, Cosmopolitan Insurance, has presented a one-year full health coverage for the victim of the Midland Savings and loans Police brutality Patience Osafo.

The health coverage is to the tune of GHC55,000 for the year.

The presentation was done by the Director strategy, Business Development and Sales of Cosmopolitan Insurance Elton Afari at the East Legon office of the company.

The move comes in the string of other benevolent gestures that have been made towards Madam Osafo and her family.

Meanwhile, Lance Corporal Frederick Amanor Godzi, aka Skalla, the policeman who allegedly beat up the woman at the Shiashie branch of Midlands Savings and Loans Limited, has pleaded with the Accra Circuit Court for an out-of-court settlement of the matter.

Counsel for the interdicted policeman yesterday begged the court to allow an out-of-court settlement on the basis that the charge of assault levelled against their client was not a felony but a misdemeanour.

“Please give us the opportunity to settle this matter outside the court system,’’ Mr Kweku Adjei Lartey pleaded with the court.

He made the plea during his submission for the court to admit his client to bail.

Godzi is alleged to have beaten Ms Patience Osafo, a customer of Midland, on the premises of the bank on July 19, 2018, when she went there to withdraw her money.

He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault.
