We’ll Continue To Partner Government – UMB

The Head of Public Private Partnerships of the Universal Merchant Bank, Mr Roland Kwame Akafia, has announced his outfit will continue to support government in its National Policy Summits.

Speaking at the media launch of the 4^th National Policy Summit, Mr Akafia stated that the Universal Merchant Bank is very happy to join hands with government in undertaking the 4^th National Policy Summit which will be held on the 24^thand 25^th of September in Tamale.

According to him, the summits organised by government will create the platform for the citizenry to share their views as well as give contributions to the policies of government.

The PPP Head also revealed that the Universal Merchant Bank is very interested in the upcoming 4th National Policy Summit because of one of the flagship programmes, the One District One Factory.

“This particular one is very important to us because it is no secret that the One District One Factory initiative when it came out, we were the first bank to jump on board to promise our support to the government to deliver it successfully. Couple of weeks ago, we delivered the first project providing about $10. 7 million for the project and the Honourable Minister was kind enough to be there to grace the occasion,” he stated.

Mr Akafia further called on all Ghanaians, especially stakeholders during the launch to participate in the 4^th National Policy Summit organised by government. According to him, it is an opportunity to discuss government’s flagship programmes especially the One District One Factory Programme.

“We are waiting. We want to go to Tamale. We want everybody from Kumasi, Accra wherever you are to join us. We want to discuss some of the flagship projects but especially for us, the One District One Factory Policy. We want to hear from the business community what they think so far and how to improve the process.”

The Ministry of Information launched the 4^th National Policy Summit under the theme “Assessing government flagship programme; the journey so far”.

The summit is set to take place on the 24^th and 25^th of September 2018 at the University of Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale.

Minister of Information designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah announced that the summit is dedicated solely to providing status reports on flagship programmes of government.
