Deplorable roads in Ghana have become deep concerns for many citizens of the country where some groups have even threatened demonstration against those in Authorities. The latest to add his voice to the brouhaha is Colombian Superstar MC Dementor who calls Ghana his second home.
In the new song ‘I Cry’ which MC Dementor and DJ Decordha featured Takoradi’s known Hiphop heavyweight Artiste Kobby Major, MC Dementor laments on the pain that death causes and sends condolences to families of lost souls. In an interview Mc Dementor wondered why precious lives should be lost as a result of deplorable roads.
He quizzed, “do leaders care about lives to leave the roads like they are and not bother to fix them?”
“If governments fix the roads, there are a lot they can solve too, when a life is lost and the person is a breadwinner, you can imagine how the dependents would be greatly affected” MC Dementor sadly reveals. “I love Ghana and the people. It is a great country that if some things like deplorable roads are fixed it would be amazing place” MC Dementor adds. “Death is inevitable but it should not be through irresponsible and reckless ways like deplorable ways and reckless driving by motorists. It is sad how some people die through such means”. MC Dementor in Spanish tongue twists in ‘I Cry’ Speaks about the pain people go through when their relatives die. Especially when the person is a breadwinner of the family and how sometimes certain dreams are cut short due to the death of an individual. Kobby Major in his usual flawless Fante raps supports MC Dementor to lament the pain that death causes. Kobby Major consoles those who have lost their loved ones and pours libation in honour of the death. With a soothing chorus to complement the raps of MC Dementor and Kobby Major, DJ Decordha passionately asks “why do I keep losing people, oh Lord why.
I hope one day I will be ok?” The Reggae infused Hip hop song is produced by Switbeat. MC Dementor says he feels heavy anytime he thinks about how lives are lost in road accidents as a result of deplorable roads and careless and reckless ways of some motorist so he decided to dedicate ‘I Cry’ in honour of those precious lives lost and their bereaved Families.
