Kofi Kinaata’s full speech at the presser to launch 2018 Made in Taadi Concert

Award winning Artiste Kofi Kinaata and his Team Move Management met the press today 13th December, 2018 to give them details of this year’s edition of the concert. Below is his full speech at the conference (unedited);

Made in Taadi Speech by Kofi Kinaata

Let me be very frank with you, this December has been very busy for me so I hardly check social media updates but on my way here, I had time to go through my mentions on Twitter and two tweets from Sarfowaa Duncan whose handle is @duncansarfowaa reads “#Takoradi is the real definition of supporting our own. I was there over the weekend and it was crazy. @Kinaatagh songs were being played everywhere.”

The other tweet reads “6 out of 10 songs on almost every DJ’s playlist were @Kinaatagh songs not forgetting how the people proudly and joyously jam to them. I just felt in love with the city. Takoradi is my new home.” On this note, let me express my gratitude to the media men here for the support since the beginning of my career. I wonder how much I can thank you. God bless you all abundantly.

It is that part of the year again and the second edition of the Made in Taadi is next week Saturday 22nd December. As the PR team has said we have a new concept for this year. This is simply because my young fans always listen to my songs and watch my videos on TV and their devices but they hardly get time to personally interact with me.

The reason is that most of the event that I host are late in the evening and they will be asleep or their parents would not allow them to be out by 10pm or 12am so I almost always get messages on social media from them asking me when I will come to their schools and homes. Since they are dear to me as well, I had to make sure that we include them in this year’s Made in Taadi Concert so they will spend time with me together their parents and teachers during the day.

One of the reasons for this concert is also to project the Artistes from this region so I have told the team to make sure that we make room for most of the promising Artistes no matter how brief the time they give them. So please be assured that there would be room for a lot of the Artistes to also showcase their talents.

So many people have asked me why we don’t charge for this concert but the truth is that Sekondi-Takoradi and the Western Region have done so much for me so this is the little I can do to say thank you. It has always been difficult to price this event especially in Sekondi-Takoradi but who knows what the future holds.

Let me also quickly add that I am grateful to my colleague Artistes from the Western Region for their good works in 2018. You have done so well and we all deserve a round of applause for the hard work we are putting in our crafts.

Thank you again to my colleague Artistes for your continuous support for the Made in Taadi concert. I am very grateful for your support.

I can promise everyone of greater Made in Taadi this year. I can assure you of something worth your pre-Christmas.

Let me end by expressing my gratitude to the team who are working hard to make this event a success.

Thank you all once again for coming.
