NAM 1 is dyed in the wool NPP member – Allotey Jacobs

Embattled Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah aka NAM 1 is a staunch member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP); asserts Allotey Jacobs.

The former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs, was commenting on the Menzgold saga involving their Chief Executive and his arrest in Dubai.

Speaking to sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM‘s “Kokrokoo“, Allotey Jacobs disclosed that Nana Appiah Mensah has always been a loyal member of the governing party; hence the ruling party’s inability to arrest or take any punitive action against the business mogul.

He stated emphatically that NAM 1’s arrest in Dubai will amount to nothing because the Akufo Addo-led NPP government has never been committed to apprehending him in the first place.

He questioned why NAM 1 would be allowed to abscond from Ghana only to be arrested in Dubai if the government was indeed interested in getting to the bottom of the Menzgold saga.

It’s an exercise in futility. There’s nothing that is going to come out of it,” he stated.

Allotey Jacobs revealed the close connections that Nana Appiah Mensah has with the NPP saying “he’s part of the NPP. His mother was a former constituency Women’s Organizer for NPP at Awutu-Senya East. It was Hawa Koomson who defeated her to become an MP and Minister. This gentleman was driving an NPP branded [car] pickup in 2006…Nana Appiah Mensah was driving an NPP branded pickup. So, i tell you that he’s a dyed in the wool NPP”.
