Makola Shopping Mall on Fire

There has been a fire outbreak at the Makola Shopping Mall at the Central Business District in Accra Friday, eyewitnesses have confirmed.

An eyewitness told Morning Starr host Francis Abban the fire sparked from the underground section of the building near the First National Bank Makola branch.

“Some rooms in the first and second floors [of the mall] are on fire and we need re-enforcement from the police to control the crowd,” an eyewitness Naa Dedei said.

Fire fighters are currently at the scene to douse the flames as traders secure their wares.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
