Henrietta Twum, popularly known as Maame Afia Konadu, who hosted popular radio programmes on Accra based Peace and Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) such as ‘Wo haw ne s?n’, ‘Mpom Te S?n‘ and ‘Asomdwee Nkom?‘, is said to have died on Wednesday, May 1 in the United States of America (USA) after short illness.
Maa Afia, as she was popularly called retired from hosting radio programmes in 2015 after working for over 15 years with the Despite Group, owners of Peace FM.
She was part of the team that started Peace FM in 1999.
Before joining Peace FM, she worked with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) when she stopped working as a school teacher.
She won the admiration of many because of the finesse with which she used Akan language on radio to impact lives.
