I’m proud we have this awards to celebrate our talents – Western Regional Minister at 3rd edition of RTC Western Music Awards

Hon. Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah presenting Lifetime Achievement Award to Highlife Legend A.B. Crentsil

The Honourable Minister for Western Region, Dr. Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency has praised the organizers of the Western Music Awards scheme for bringing such an initiative to celebrate and honour the stars and legends from the Western Music.

Present at the third edition of the awards yesterday 11th May, 2019 at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, the Regional Minister who could not hide his profound joy in witnessing this occasion expressed his feelings about the awards by singing the popular “Yewo adze oye sokoo, Western Region, y3 wo adze oye a, y3 wo adze oya sokoo!” to wit “we have something great, Western Region we have something great!” before  presenting the Most Popular Regional Song of the year award.

He also made mention of the great resources that the Region has including its great talent and mentioned that he is proud this awards scheme is there to celebrate the talents.

The Regional Minister who could not sit through out the event showcased his honourable dance moves at the awards. Impressed by his long stay at the awards, the youth who were surprised that he could stay till 2 am (Sunday 12th May, 2019) expressed their appreciation to him when he was leaving the auditorium.

He also presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Highlife Legend A.B. Crentsil.
