The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, has advised leadership and members of the party to be united and refrain from publicly discussing internal issues as they work to achieve the vision of the founding fathers of the party.
“It’s for us to achieve political power to translate this vision into a permanent reality; we can only do so if we remain a united force where as much as possible, we discuss issues amongst us at home and not in the open; where we are tolerant with each other, and respect each other even if we disagree.”
According to him, if the NPP continues to forge ahead on this basis, the party will achieve the vision and aim of the founding fathers.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the party’s 21st anniversary, Nana Addo said the NPP can be the most united party in Ghana if it “holds proud the banner of the NPP as it engages in the contest of political power with respect towards opponents for the good of mother Ghana.”
