A student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has drowned at a beach in the Takoradi-Sekondi Municipality of the Western Region.

The deceased, James Emil Cudjoe Jnr, a real estate student, was said to have gone to the Ekuase beach to swim with his colleagues Wednesday afternoon when he was carried away by the sea.

Cudjoe’s body has since not yet been found.

His brother, Benjamin Emil who confirmed the incident to the host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, said efforts are being made to recover the body.

According to him, the family has been devastated by the death of the level 100 student.

“The family is deeply devastated by the news because my brother who is a very calm person, came home on vacation just about a week ago,” he said.

Meanwhile a report has been made to the Sekondi Police for the necessary action to be taken on the matter.
