Aberdeen University to honour Prez. Mahama with honourary degree in law

Scotland’s prestigious Aberdeen University will confer an honorary degree on the President of the Republic of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama on Friday 18th March, 2016 at the schools premises in Aberdeen Scotland, www.233times.net is informed.
Joseph Somevi, Acting Chair of Ghanaians in Aberdeen Union reveals to www.233times.net that, Ghana’s President will also meet Ghanaians in the oil capital of Europe (Aberdeen) after receiving his honorary doctorate degree in law by the 521-year-old University.
On University of Aberdeen’s website, the school gives the following criteria for honouring an individual with Doctorate Degree;
“An honorary degree is one of higher education’s most significant accolades. Each year we award honorary degrees to distinguished individuals who merit special recognition for genuine achievement and distinction in a field or activity, not only to acknowledge and celebrate their success but also to provide our students with inspiration role models, prompting further determination to succeed and achieve.”
