20 Unsung talents: If you want to invest in Showbiz, Sekondi-Takoradi is a sure bet

Not only is it endowed with enormous natural resources, the Western Region of Ghana is a hub for great Showbiz talents as well.

Undeniably, Showbiz has become very lucrative to the extent that, an Artiste like Sarkodie could charge $70,000 per show (don’t be underwhelmed by this figure, looking at where the industry has come from, this is a big deal). Businessmen who are known for investing in the corporate world now have stakes in Showbiz and are putting in structures to make sure that they also benefit from the growing industry as well. An example is Ghana’s ‘demon’ investor, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom who is also the flagbearer of Progressive People’s Party (PPP). His Spyderlee Entertainment record label which was formerly managing Keche is an example of how some businessmen are paying attention to showbiz lately.

With a record of promising Artistes, Actors, Actresses and radio DJs, Presenters, movie Directors and sound engineers, Sekondi-Takoradi, also known as the Oil City can boost of taking total dominance of Ghana’s Showbiz in the next five (5) years. Already, a handful of the talents have struggled their way through and are making great waves across the world.

Not only is Nero X’s songs on playlists of most DJs across the country, he is headlining concerts across Europe. Pappy Kojo who recently ended his Europe tour is also one Artiste from the Western Region whose brand speaks volumes of how an investor could recoup amazing returns from investing in Showbiz. Kofi Kinaata, a Highgrade family signed Artiste is also amongst the favourites of most music lovers in Ghana and abroad.

Admittedly, time is essential to every talent and investment and as such when it is a talent’s time, even if the person is cemented, he/she will still erupt. Smart businessmen who are aware of how time plays key role in investment see decades ahead when others are paying attention to instant gratifications. It is by this that the Author is advising investors who have keen interest in Showbiz to look to the Western Region of Ghana to invest in talents that are not only promising, but can also give amazing returns on investments.
