Shortage of waakye hits Sekondi-Takoradi

2584682694584_5407573798878There is currently shortage of waakye, a popular rice and beans food in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

It is believed that the Ramadan festivities have taken serious toll on many waakye sellers. Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson who has been to four (4) popular joints in the Metropolis confirms this. He went to these popular waakye jonts; BBJ junction, Fijai Taxi Rank, Amina at Effiakuma and Number 9 Traffic Junction and none of them operated today (27th July, 2017).

Calling the sellers on phone, the sellers told Mr. Simpson that they are tired following the Ramadan festivities.

Other waakye joints in the Metropolis did not operate as well.
