Street lights in Sekondi-Takoradi to go solar before 2022 – Regional Minister

The Western Regional Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the Takoradi Constituency, Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has said that all streets lights in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis will be changed to modern solar lamps before the end of 2021.

In an interview on Skyy Power FM’s Jolly Breakfast Show (JBS) on Thursday, September 16, Dr. Okyere Darko-Mensah said the wire theft from the light poles has affected a lot of the street lights from working, hence the reason for the darkness in the Metropolis.

The Regional Minister believes installing the solar lamps would be the panacea to the stealing of the wires which affect the light poles.

Emphatically, the Regional Minister stated that the solar lamps would be installed before the end of 2021
