Arguably the best place to spend the yuletide, Sekondi-Takoradi, the capital of Western Region magnets millions of people across the world to witness the best showcase of masquerade groups.
2017 Christmas was no exception, over fifty (50) masquerade groups danced through the principal streets of the oil city as it is nicknamed. The Member of Parliament (MP) for Takoradi, Kobby Okyere Darko who is also the Deputy Minister for Aviation joined one of the masquerade groups to celebrate the Christmas in the Metropolis.
A local radio station, Skyy Power FM organizes competition for the masquerade groups annually where the best masquerade attire, best dancing group, the masquerade group with large numbers are awarded.
